The trailer (see below) came out Tuesday but the movie will actually only open later this year in May. The movie will have the honor of opening the 64th annual Festival de Cannes (Cannes International Film Festival) on May 11th on the French Riviera. Cannes Festival director Thierry Fremaux said of this movie: ”Midnight in Paris is a wonderful love letter to Paris.”

The famous international cast includes: Owen Wilson, Marion Cotillard, Rachel McAdams, Kathy Bates, Michael Sheen, Adrien Brody, Nina Arianda, Corey Stoll, Mimi Kennedy, Kurt Fullerby, Carla Bruni, and Léa Seydoux. You may remember First Lady of France Carla Bruni and Oscar winner Marion Cotillard who portrayed Edith Piaf in “La vie en Rose.” In the romantic comedy “Midnight in Paris”, an engaged couple travels to Paris to follow the fiancée’s father on a business trip. Their lives will be forever changed — Paris will do that to you! The movie was shot on location (Paris) so you get to travel to Paris with Woody Allen’s camera which must be quite the adventure. I am marking my calendar for May 20th when the movie comes out in the US. In France it will be realeased on May 11th when the Cannes International Film Festival starts.

I love Woody…and so glad he’s back in Paris (remember “Everyone Says I Love You”?). It looks like a great cast! Fabulous poster! Viva Vincent! How perfect to put this out there TODAY….In 1889, the Eiffel Tower opened March 31!
What a charming movie that will be to see!
Right Einie, it was on March 31, 1889 at 13h30 Paris time that Gustave Eiffel went up the 1710 stairs leading to the third floor of the Eiffel Tower to wave the French flag during the Eiffel Tower official opening ceremony. Thank you so much for reminding us that the Eiffel Tower turned 122 years old yesterday. Love the van Gogh’s inspired poster too, nice touch.
I love it! It brings back such fond memories. I want to go back to Paris so bad now!
