How to Dry the Inside of Narrow Vases

As we discussed in our article, “French Country Decoration: 4 Ideas for an Improvised Vase“, anything that holds water can be a vase at Art of the Home.  A favorite is to use vintage bottles to showcase single hydrangea stems — so country!  The problem is that after you clean such narrow vases, there is always water or moisture left inside.  Air drying can do the trick but if you must dry them right away (to store them for example), Art of the Home has an easy solution.  So check the Art of the Home tip below, we’ve used it for years, great technique to dry up narrow vases of any shapes!

Art of the Home Tip — after rinsing your vase, the first step is to shake it (over the sink or outside with narrow neck facing down) to remove as much water as possible.  Then wrap a paper towel around the handle of a kitchen wooden spoon.  Insert kitchen spoon handle inside the narrow vase and turn it.   By touching the inside walls and bottom of the vase, the paper towel will absorb the excess water and voilà!
