French Fashion Designer: Yves Saint Laurent

Today, we are featuring a beautiful video tribute to one of France’s most influential designers, Yves Saint Laurent.   The video shows a retrospect on his career and what he meant to women and fashion.  Yves Saint Laurent designed his famous pant suits that empowered women while allowing them to keep their femininity.  The video also includes footage of his last runaway show at the Pompidou Center in Paris back in 2002.  This retrospective fashion show featured 100 models dressed in the clothes he designed over the last four decades.  The fashion show ends with an emotional goodbye from Catherine Deneuve, his muse for over 40 years.

Yves Saint Laurent often talked so beautifully about women.  This is one of his lovely quotes:

“Fashion isn’t Just to decorate women, but to reassure them, give them confidence”
