Indeed, the Cannes Film Festival announced that her latest movie, “Les Bien-Aimés” (“The Beloved”) has been selected to officially close the 64th Cannes Film Festival on May 22nd, 2011. More than 40 years after she sang in the 1965 Cannes Film Festival Palme d’Or winner “Les Parapluies de Cherbourg” (The Umbrellas of Cherbourg), Catherine Deneuve will sing again on the Croisette (nickname of the long “Boulevard de la Croisette” where the Cannes Film Festival is held). This time, Catherine Deneuve is singing with her real life daughter Chiara Mastroianni (amazing how she looks like her father, Italian legend Marcello Mastroianni).

Here is the lovely mother-daughter duet singing “Une fille légère” (they are known for having very similar voices — so charming)

Oh, I can’t WAIT to see this with at least one of my daughters! Thank you for letting us know about it.
